Inspectly platform terms
Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms explain how to use Inspectly and what seekers, experts and the platform are responsible for. Read them before creating an account, posting an ad or arranging an inspection.
1. What Inspectly provides
Inspectly is a South African platform connecting people seeking inspection expertise (seekers) with independent experts. Seekers publish inspection ads, experts respond with quotes and availability, and seekers select who to work with.
Inspectly provides the platform. It does not perform inspections, sell the item being inspected or make the purchase decision. An expert’s inspection service is arranged directly between the seeker and expert. No employment, agency or partnership is created merely by using the platform.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter the relevant service agreement. Provide accurate account information, use only accounts you are authorised to operate and keep your login credentials secure. Do not share passwords or one-time codes. Tell the other participant promptly if your availability or relevant information changes.
You may use the seeker and expert workspaces on the same account. An expert must complete the application review before sending quotes. Account registration alone does not approve an expert.
3. Posting ads and responding
Ads and responses must be genuine, relevant and lawful. Describe the item, checks needed, approximate location, budget and timing honestly. Do not publish precise addresses, phone numbers, seller contact details, identity documents or sensitive information in ads or public profile text. Only upload material you have permission to share.
Experts must respond only to work they can competently and lawfully undertake, state relevant experience honestly and explain exclusions or limitations. Do not impersonate another person, invent qualifications or approvals, spam users, harass anyone, discriminate unlawfully or use the platform for fraud or illegal activity.
4. Expert profiles and approval
Experience levels and profile qualifications are declared by experts. Application approval indicates an administrator has reviewed an application and supporting documents; it is not a guarantee of every claim, a professional licence, a comprehensive background check or an endorsement of a purchase.
Experts remain responsible for maintaining any registration, licence, insurance or qualification required for their work and for accurately describing their services. Seekers should confirm credentials relevant to the proposed inspection. Changes to expertise, experience, level or qualifications require another review before further quotes can be sent.
5. Agree the service before work starts
Posting an ad or receiving a response does not confirm an inspection. Before work begins, the seeker and expert should agree in writing the scope, inspection format, date, access arrangements, total price, travel and other expenses, payment terms, deliverables, limitations and cancellation or rescheduling terms. Use the private conversation to keep a record.
A quote is for the work it describes. An hourly profile rate is indicative and is not the final price or a commitment to a particular number of hours. Obtain agreement before adding work or charges. Each participant is responsible for performing their part of the agreed service arrangement.
6. In-person inspections and remote reviews
For in-person work, arrange the seller’s or property owner’s permission, lawful access and a safe meeting. Do not enter unsafe premises or operate equipment without the required authority, competence and precautions. Confirm whether the seeker will attend, and tell a trusted person where you are meeting.
Remote reviews rely on the photos, documents, records or video supplied and cannot replace physical checks that require access, tools or testing. Experts must explain these limitations and recommend further checks where appropriate. Either participant should pause work and raise concerns if the agreed conditions are unsafe or materially different.
7. Prices, payments and cancellations
Seekers and experts agree service prices and payment arrangements directly, including applicable taxes, deposits, travel costs, cancellation charges and refunds. Clarify these terms before committing and retain receipts. Experts are responsible for their own invoicing and applicable tax obligations.
Inspectly does not currently collect inspection payments, hold funds in escrow, provide payment protection or collect a platform fee in the current workflow. Do not assume a payment is protected by Inspectly or send money to someone claiming to operate an Inspectly escrow account. Signing up and posting ads are free. Experts join and respond for free, with no response credits to buy. The planned Paystack model charges experts a 15% commission only on completed, paid inspections. Commission collection is not active yet. Full payment terms, any provider charges, refunds, tax treatment and expert payout arrangements must be disclosed before paid checkout is enabled.
If an inspection must be cancelled or rescheduled, notify the other participant promptly and follow the agreed terms and applicable law. A user report or request-status change does not itself settle a payment dispute, cancel a service agreement or create a refund.
8. Findings and purchase decisions
An inspection is limited to its agreed scope, available access and information, and conditions at the time. It may not identify hidden defects, future faults, ownership issues or matters requiring specialist testing outside the agreed scope. Ask the expert to identify what was and was not checked.
Findings help inform your decision. They are not a guarantee of the item’s condition, value, legal compliance or future performance. Seek further professional checks where appropriate. The seeker decides whether to buy, negotiate or walk away; the expert remains responsible for the service they provide under their agreement and applicable law.
9. Personal information and documents
Inspectly uses account information, profiles, ads, quotes, messages, reports and relevant supporting documents to operate the service, manage access and review concerns. Supabase supplies the platform’s authentication, database and storage services. Access is restricted according to a user’s role and their involvement in a request.
Exact addresses and contact details are kept separate from ads and shared with the selected expert only when the seeker chooses. Application documents are accessible to the submitting expert and authorised administrators. Relevant professional profile details can be shown to the seeker with an expert’s response. Reports are accessible to the reporter and authorised administrators who are not involved in that report. Supplied expert phone and email are accessible only to the poster and chosen expert after acceptance; a poster’s phone and email are shared only when the poster enables sharing. Ending sharing prevents future access but cannot erase information already seen or saved.
Share only information needed for the inspection and respect information received from others. Do not scrape profiles, disclose private messages or documents without a lawful basis, or use someone’s details for unsolicited marketing. Remember me controls session persistence on your device; sign out when finished on a shared device.
10. Safety, reporting and moderation
We take the security of our users seriously. Access controls, private conversations, controlled contact sharing, expert review and reporting are intended to support both seekers and experts. These measures do not eliminate all risk; keep sensitive details private, verify relevant credentials and use care when arranging meetings and payments.
Report suspicious users from the relevant response or conversation and report inappropriate requests using the available reporting controls. Provide truthful, relevant details. Authorised administrators review reports and may use available moderation controls, including closing a request or requesting changes to an expert application. A report does not automatically establish misconduct or guarantee a particular outcome or review time.
If you disagree with a moderation decision, explain your concern in a follow-up report on the relevant request so it can be reviewed by an uninvolved administrator. Do not abuse reporting to threaten or retaliate against another user. Contact local emergency services if anyone is in immediate danger.
11. Service disagreements and platform availability
Raise service concerns promptly with the other participant and keep the agreed scope, messages, findings and payment records. Use reporting for suspected misconduct. Inspectly may review platform conduct but does not promise to resolve a contractual dispute, provide a refund or replace a court, regulator or lawful complaints process.
Availability of experts and uninterrupted platform access are not guaranteed. Maintenance, technical problems or other interruptions can occur. Avoid relying on the platform alone for urgent or safety-critical decisions. Inspectly remains responsible for its own obligations under applicable law.
12. Legal rights and responsibility
Each participant is responsible for their own conduct and obligations. Nothing in these terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under South African consumer and data-protection law. Nothing removes responsibility for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence or other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
South African law applies, subject to any mandatory law that protects a user. You retain access to courts, regulators and dispute-resolution rights available under applicable law. These terms do not require you to waive those rights.
13. Changes to these terms
The date above identifies this version. Review the terms before arranging a new inspection. Material changes should be brought to users’ attention before they apply; merely replacing this page does not override an existing service agreement or remove accrued rights. Agree any changes to an existing inspection directly with the other participant.
14. Reviews, reporting and blocking
The poster and accepted expert may each submit one rating and written review after an inspection is marked complete. Reviews must reflect your own experience, be relevant and honest, and must not contain threats, harassment, private contact information or payment-for-review arrangements. Ratings and visible written feedback appear on the reviewed person's profile, accessible to authorised signed-in users with a relevant marketplace connection.
Either side can report or block the other. Blocking prevents further quotes, selection, messaging and future contact-detail access, but does not cancel a service, refund a payment or remove information already saved. Previous messages remain available as a record. Eligible reviews and reports remain possible after blocking. An independent administrator may hide abusive reviews with an audit record; a reviewed person cannot remove feedback simply because it is negative.
